Horse Riding Lessons Program

Private Riding Lessons

Private lessons are 30-minute riding sessions offering one-on-one instruction with a certified coach. These lessons are ideal for new riders just getting started, or for riders looking to add a second ride to their weekly schedule. These lessons offer excellent individual focus on improving essential riding skills.

Once you are registered for private lessons, a consistent weekly ride time will be organized for the season (fall schedule or summer schedule).

In addition to the lesson, riders must allow 30 minutes before and after their ride time to tack and untack their horse.

Group Riding Lessons

Group lessons are one hour with a maximum of six riders per group. Riders will be sorted into groups according to skill level and availability. This lesson structure is ideal for riders looking for new challenges and the opportunity to learn with peers.

New riders to York are required to have an Assessment Lesson before joining a group lesson to determine their skill level. Once you are registered for a group lesson, a consistent weekly ride time will be organized for the season (fall schedule or summer schedule).

In addition to the lesson, riders must allow 30 minutes before and after their ride time to tack and untack their horse.

Assessment Riding Lesson

Do you have horseback riding experience? Excellent!

Students with previous riding experience are required to complete a 30-minute private lesson designed to assess your riding level and horsemanship skills. This helps our coaches determine what mounts and lesson types are a fit for you. It’s also a great opportunity to ‘test drive’ our facility and program!

As with all of our lessons, riders must allow for 30 minutes before and after their scheduled lesson time to tack and untack their horse.
